BHOPAL :Chairperson of Madhya Pradesh Child Rights Commission Usha Chaturvedi took strong objection to indecent behaviour with girl players of a Higher Secondary School in Biaora at Vidisha where they had gone to participate in a tournament. To prevent recurrence of such incidents, the commission recommended that a lady teacher should be sent with girl players.
Chaturvedi made these remarks during a special bench held regarding supply of sub- standard mid- day meal. She also said, ” If a selfhelp group fails to supply quality mid- day meal, the agreement a school had with such NGO should be cancelled.” The directive was issued to officers of Rajgarh and Narsingarh districts and the then CEO of Rampur Naikin Janpad Panchayat in Sidhi district.
Commission’s members Reena Gujral, Vijaya Shukla, Dr. Reeta Upmanyu, R. N. Lata, Asha adav and Vibhanshu Joshi were present during proceedings of the joint bench, which took up a total of 22 cases.
The commission also heard cases pertaining to irregularities found in midday meal supplied by Nandi Foundation of Bhopal during surprise inspection of hostels and schools at Mhow in Indore district, Jhabua and Rewa, children smoking hookah in Bhopal, non- payment of scholarships for the year 2010, harassing schoolchildren etc.
