BHOPAL (Madhya Pradesh): Doctors, in a complaint to the chairperson of Jawarharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital Research Centre (JNCHRC) Asha Joshi, have demanded removal of CEO Divya Joshi stating, 'Due to the CEO, the hospital is going through disrepute and dishonor. Moreover, the post of CEO is not justified in an institute run by a trust constituted by registrar, firms and societies and MP.'

The doctors have protested the CEO's alleged high-handedness and rude behaviour, adding that she should not be involved in any matter related to doctors including consultants and medical officers.

The doctors said, 'We are completely disappointed by the way the present pharmacy is being run and refuse to be a party of such activity now onwards. It is our basic and professional right to prescribe drugs of our choice because ultimately we are responsible and answerable for the care of the sick. Henceforth, we demand that the choice of doctors be respected at all cost and under no circumstance doctors be forced to write any medication.'

The other demands include transparency in salaries, appointment criteria and increment; biometric attendance system and spying on doctors and other staff be stopped as doctors are working for hospitals and not for factories where there is time limit, outdoor duty record of the CEO, her son and the HR, internal audit by a government agency (unbiased), retirement age of on-roll doctors be as per government norms i.e. 65 years, private practice be permitted to contractual doctors.

Divya Joshi, CEO, while talking to Free Press, said, 'We will be available to maintain healthy relationship with all soon. We will manage the show.'

Gandhi Medical College (GMC) Dean Dr Arvind Rai, who is a member of the trust said, 'Once a year, trust meeting is conducted. We are least bothered about JNCHRC's affair. But now we will look into the matter being government nominees.'
