Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) will take up the work of beautifying all entry points of the city with greenery which will be undertaken soon. The decision was taken in a meeting.
Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh expressed on further taking up development works in the new financial year.
The focus was to give the look of the Metro City during discussion of the budget tabled to take forward the development works in line with traditions of Sanskardhani (Jabalpur's cultural name) and to work towards transforming the city rapidly into a Metro.
Regarding public interest and development works, the Mayor informed that new fire stations will be established in 4 more areas of the city to give quick response to spots reporting fire accidents.
He said the work will be done to make urban local body areas beggar-free and employment opportunities will also be provided to needy beggars among them.
He mentioned that shelters will also be utilised and attention will be paid to education and food arrangements.
Under Deendayal Rasoi Yojana, daily 800 to 1k persons are getting meal at nominal cost through two Deendayal Rasoi centres and two mobile vans are being operated.
Singh informed that Rs 115 crore has been paid for development works in the last 45 days and approximately Rs 150 crore is available in the corporation's treasury for implementation of various schemes.
