Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): In the recent development in Jabalpur raid case, the Economic Offences Wing has seized 56 liquor bottles worth ₹1.5 lakh from Jagdish Sarvate’s residence in Rampur.
Jagdish Sarvate, Deputy Commissioner of the Tribal Welfare Department, has been in headlines ever since assets worth ₹ 5.89 crores and even a Tiger skin was confiscated from his residence.
On July 22, EOW teams raided Sarvate’s residences in Bhopal and Jabalpur. During the searches at his official residence in Shankar Shah Nagar and his private home in Adhartal (Jabalpur), officials reportedly found a tiger skin, which is an illegal possession.

Liquor bottles found
In another major revelation, Gorakhpur Police registered a case against Sarvate under Section 34(1) of the Excise Act after 56 liquor bottles worth ₹1.5 lakh were found at his home in Rampur.
Investigations also led EOW to resorts and a restaurant on Mandla Highway near Kanha National Park, which are allegedly owned by Sarvate and estimated to be worth several crores. The EOW team will visit Kanha today to assess the current market value of these properties.
So far, EOW has traced more than ₹6 crore worth of benami (undisclosed) properties. The team is still gathering information about his bank accounts, cash, jewelry, and documents.
Jagdish Sarvate, who is currently posted in charge of the Sagar district, is under scrutiny for accumulating wealth while holding a government position.
Suryakant Sharma, Additional SP, Jabalpur, confirmed the findings and said the investigation is ongoing.
This case follows a similar recent raid in the forest department and raises serious concerns about corruption within senior government ranks.
