Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, while addressing the ‘Jai Hind Tiranga Yatra’ in Jabalpur on Saturday, said, “I have seen the Bangladesh war of 1971. Indira Gandhi had taken strong decisions at that time, ignoring the pressure of America.”

Congress is organising the Yatra across the state in honour of Indian Army. Nath said the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of brave soldiers will forever remain indelible in the soul of India. “Your heroic saga inspires us every moment,” he said.

State Congress president Jitu Patwari targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “The Prime Minister, who came to Bhopal to attend the Nari Shakti Sammelan, has not taken any action against the minister who is not only insulting Indian Army, but also insulting all daughters of the country.”

Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said the Congress is not questioning Operation Sindoor, but wants to know about the government’s decisions and transparency surrounding the anti-terror operation. He also asked, “Where are the terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam attack on April 22?”

Baghel said, “Indian Army is the best army in the world. Whenever the countrymen needed Indian Army, it displayed its valour.”

Former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh was requested by party leaders, including former minister Lakhan Ghanghoria, to come onto the stage, but Singh preferred to sit among senior citizens and later moved to sit with ex-servicemen invited to the function.

Singh has reportedly announced that he would no longer sit on any stage, upset over not being given a seat on the dais during a recent party function.
