Mhow : IG Varun Kapoor, Director PRTS Indore, along with the assistance Sudeep Goenka, SP, PRTS Indore visited St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School Mhow to deliver a workshop on the awareness of cyber crime. The PRTS Indore has developed an extensive awareness and public outreach programme to make all sections of the society computer security aware and alert.
This drive christened as ‘BLACK RIBBON INITIATIVE’ is formulated, conceived, developed and executed by the IG Varun Kapoor. IG Kapoor and Goenka spoke to the students and made them aware about the entire gamut of cyber security related information ranging from- Legal provisions, police procedures, IT Act provisions, cyber crime definition, cyber crime impact and volume, types of cyber crime, the advantage of awareness in cyber crime prevention, password protection, ID theft protection, data theft protection, risky behavior on the net, inappropriate content, cyber bullying, cyber stalking, financial frauds on the net mail/call spoofing and ways of protection, ATM frauds and net banking frauds, etc. a few clips and documentary films were shown to the students.
During the session IG Varun Kapoor asked the children questions and the ones who answered well were awarded with certificates and badges. With the assistance of the DSP Rajendra Singh Verma and his staff, the teachers, Sandra Brown, Varsha Kardak, Ruchita Wilfred, Sadhana Paranjape and Vijay Khandelwal of St. Mary’s made arrangements for the workshop.
The programme was hosted by Sandra Brown and.Varsha Kardak. The distinguished guests were welcomed with aarti and bouquets. M.Elsa expressed her gratitude and appreciation by presenting Mementoes to Varun Kapoor and Sudeep Goenka .The workshop ended with the vote of thanks given by Sadhana Paranjape.
