Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A house maid stole allegedly gold jewellery worth ₹6 lakh from the owner's place in posh Koh-e-Fiza area of Bhopal. Not only this, she hid the stolen jewels at his boyfriend's home in Nagpur.

The accused has been arrested and the gold jewellery has been seized.

According to information, the theft was carried out at Yasir Ahmed’s residence a few days ago. The accused was identified as Tanya Bhargava.

She allegedly planned and executed the entire theft. She then hid all the stolen jewellery at her boyfriend Asheesh Toran’s place in Nagpur.

The matter came to light after Yasir's family members started looking for the jewellery but couldn’t find them. This raised suspicions of theft on their house maid.

According to Bhopal SP Anil Bajpayee, “The complaints informed us that their gold bangles worth lakhs were missing from their house and they suspected their maid of theft.”

“Acting on the complaint, the maid was interrogated. On being questioned strictly, the maid confessed to the crime. She said she has two of them with herself and 4 others are with her boyfriend in Nagpur,” the SP added.

The accused have been arrested and the jewellery has been seized. Further investigation is ongoing.
