Ashoknagar (Madhya Pradesh): A woman passenger narrowly escaped death at the railway station after getting stuck between the platform and a moving train on Friday.
According to eyewitnesses, 32-year-old Madhu Lakshyakar, who was travelling in Lalgarh-Puri Express, got down to fill water on platform number one.

As the train began to depart, she rushed to board it but slipped and got trapped in the narrow gap between the platform and the train.
Passengers immediately stopped the train by pulling the chain. GRP station in-charge Lakhan Singh Raghuvanshi and constable Abhishek Chauhan reached the spot.
Initial attempts to pull her out failed as the space was too less. A police team arranged for a road digging drill machine from the local market and carefully started digging the CC construction of the platform.
After a long 40 minutes of intensified rescue operation the woman was safely pulled out. A crowd of people gathered at the spot.
According to reports, Madhu was a resident of Aligarh, she was going to Sawai Madhopur with her family. She has suffered severe head and back injuries. Currently, she has been admitted to Ashoknagar District Hospital, where her treatment is going on.
