BHOPAL : The state government is busy in glorifying Hindi in the ongoing World Hindi Convention. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has also stressing on making Hindi as a language of administration n the state. Despite all these initiatives, it has come to the fore that the government is going to change the medium of instruction in 1,500 schools across the state from Hindi to English medium. The government has decided that five schools in each block would be converted into English medium schools. Teachers to teach English may also be appointed in these schools, if needed. School Education Department has started its work of converting schools into English medium in 313 blocks of the state.
Apart from these schools, the government intends to turn 5 schools in each of the 89 tribal blocks in the state into English medium. This has been done to enable the students to study in English medium.
Minister of State for School Education Deepak Joshi said that it has been decided to change 5 schools in each block into English medium. Joshi said implementation on this plan would start from the next session. School Education Minister Paras Jain said Hindi has its own place but it is also important to impart education in English too to the students.
