Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Gwalior is all set for the grand Holika Dahan, with the biggest celebration in the Chambal region taking place at Sarafa Bazaar on Thursday.
According to information, this massive Holika pyre has been built using 25,000 cow dung cakes, attracting people from across the city to witness the traditional event.
For the past 70 years, traders from Sarafa Bazaar have been organising this grand Holika Dahan.
The event will begin at 11 PM, with a large gathering of men, women, and children offering prayers before setting the pyre ablaze.
Unlike other Holika Dahans that use wood, the Sarafa Bazaar organisers have opted for cow dung cakes to make the event eco-friendly.
They believe that burning large amounts of wood harms the environment, as it leads to deforestation. By using cow dung cakes, they aim to preserve nature while keeping the traditional spirit of Holi alive.
This unique and environmentally friendly Holika Dahan is a major attraction, drawing thousands of people every year to celebrate the festival in a responsible and meaningful way.
