Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A woman and her daughter were tied to a pole and thrashed by over a dozen miscreants in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district on Wednesday afternoon. Sources said that the woman and her daughter were beaten by the aides of a jewellery store owner in Dabra.

The woman allegedly pelted stones at the jewellery store owner's wife while she was going to a temple. A video of both the victims being beaten up has surfaced on social media and is doing the rounds. Police have taken cognisance of the video and have apprehended four accused.

Watch the video here:

According to information, the altercation began when Kuki Agrawal, wife of jeweller Vijay Agrawal, visited a nearby temple for worship. As she approached the temple, Leela Sharma, a resident of a house opposite the temple, along with her daughters Gauri and Neha, allegedly started pelting stones at her. Kuki sustained injuries and filed a police complaint.

In retaliation, some employees of Vijay Agrawal reached the scene and tied Leela Sharma to the ground and her daughter to a pole. They then thrashed the duo brutally. Videos of the incident went viral, prompting the police to act swiftly. Officers arrived, rescued the woman and her daughter, and brought them to the police station.

Police Investigation

Based on a complaint filed by Leela Sharma’s son, Krishna Sharma, police have registered a case against Vijay Agrawal, his wife, and 15 others. Four employees have been arrested so far.

This is not the first such incident involving Leela Sharma and her family. On January 16, they were accused of pelting stones at a property owner cleaning his plot, injuring four passersby.

City Police Officer Yashwant Goyal confirmed that cases have been registered against both parties and investigations are underway.
