Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that the state government is working towards equipping all government hospitals with modern diagnostic machines and enhancing patient facilities. This reflects the government’s dedication to public health, said the Chief Minister while  inaugurating new CT and MRI services at Hamidia Hospital on Friday.

MRI and CT facility will benefit approximately 2,000 OPD and 1,500 IPD patients coming to hospital daily, said Yadav. Poor families can now have access to expensive tests and treatments, he added.

Stating that 17 medical colleges are currently running in the state, the Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh’s first “Medicity” and medical college are coming up in Ujjain, along with the country’s largest medical device park at Vikram Udyogpuri. CT scan services are already available in 50 districts and 3 civil hospitals.

There are currently 2,575 MBBS and 1,357 PG seats in government medical colleges. Across the state, there are 40 medical colleges (government and private), 308 nursing colleges, and 800 Health & Wellness Centers.
