Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said his government has appointed women to important positions.

Both the collector and the SP of Narsinghpur and the commissioner of Shahdol are women, he said, adding that the government is working with the spirit of honouring women.

Yadav made the statement at a mock parliament organised by the women’s wing of the party on Thursday.

During the Emergency, the Congress harassed the common man, and a prime minister had placed the country under the Emergency to save her chair, Yadav said.

The Congress is such a poor party that it has failed to give the organisation an Indian name and that the British formed it, Yadav said.

The Congress does not have an Indian name for the party, so before fighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the organisation should find an Indian name for itself, he said.

Kurta-pyjama for men and sari for women are considered auspicious in Indian tradition, Yadav said. The Chief Minister took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi, saying he always wears a T-shirt.

“What kind of intelligence does he have? He does not know what to speak and how to speak,” Yadav said. BJP’s state unit president Hemant Khandelwal said women would get more representation in the party.

There should be debate on sexual harassment

At the mock parliament, a student has said discussions are held on developed India and the Emergency, but there is no debate over an important issue like sexual harassment.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said MP was the first state in the country to have made provisions for capital punishment in a rape case. Yadav said his government would never let such offenders off the hook.
