Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): An Afghan national who had arrived to Bhopal for studies is missing for around two months. Kolar police registered an FIR against Sayyad Rashid Sadat after receiving inputs from Ministry of Home Affairs and have launched a search for him.

According to reports, hailing from Afghanistan Sayyad Rashid Sadat (24) had taken admission at Jagran Lakecity University and completed journalism course in 2024. Rashid had applied for a course in diploma in photo journalism.

However, he was not given admission due to issues in his visa extension. TI at Kolar police station Sanjay Soni said Rashid was living at Amarnath Colony at Sagar Green Hills.

However, his landlord said that Rashid left some months back. Locals informed police that Rashid was not seen in the area after January this year.

Rashid’s visa had expired on March 25, 2024 and he was illegally living in India since then. An FIR has been registered against him for illegally staying in the country, the TI added.

Police officials said that efforts were underway to search for the Afghan national. It is suspected that he has left Bhopal and may have been living in New Delhi.
