Bhopal : Opposition Congress may be claiming to increase its tally in the upcoming assembly elections but Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has begun exercise to get hold over the Congress seats.
On Friday night, Chouhan made a night halt in Ganjbasoda, where Congress won in the last election.
Chouhan visited the town and interacted with citizens. He also met representatives of various social orgnisations late night. He listened to the problems of people having public standing in the town. He also asked people to select their candidate for the Assembly elections.
Chouhan during his stay also collected feedback on giving ticket from the BJP and also met leaders of party and the RSS.
The CM will conduct night halts in the coming two months at places where the Congress had won, so that favourable atmosphere for the party could be made. As many as 40 sitting MLAs lost in the Assembly elections in 2013.
The party selected around 30 seats where Congress candidates have won for the first time. These seats are not traditional seats of either Congress or BJP. Chouhan is focusing on these seats. Winning in these seats would help BJP immensely in the upcoming elections.
Chouhan will tour these seats and meet party workers and people of social organizations so that it could benefit the party in the elections. The Assembly areas like Karera, Bamori, Devri, Ater, Khargapur, Jabera, Kotma, Pushprajgarh, Beohari, Mauganj, Chitrangi, Mandla, Baihar, Jabalpur (east), Patan, Bahoriband, Parasia, Amarvara, Harda, Ichawar, Seronj, Bhagwanpura and Badwani where Chouhan would do night halts.
