Diploma engineers block traffic

BHOPAL : Diploma Engineers Association blocked the traffic in protest against non-fulfillment of their 4-point demands at Board Office Square disrupting the traffic in the evening on Wednesday. Entire traffic was disrupted leaving the vehicles including public transport stranded for hours.

Commuters had to face brunt of the demonstration as they were confined in public transport for hours. Traffic police looked helpless in clearing the traffic jam cropped up due to demonstration and rally of diploma engineers.

Earlier, they demonstrated at Ambedkar Park and took out rally in the afternoon. Blocking the traffic, they raised slogan in support of their demands.

According to association, diploma engineers protested against non-fulfillment of their demands including promotion in service period. They also demanded that they should be given pay grade from Rs 3200 to 4200 and quota in promotion should be restored for them during service. The diploma engineers have threatened the government that if their demands are not fulfilled, they will go for state wide strike.
