Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The MP Congress Committee has decided to organise a meeting of the party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) on August 11 under the instructions of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
The victory in the Datia by-election has infused a new life in the Congress. Because the assembly elections will take place only after two years, the party plans to act more aggressively.
The Congress leaders also also make a strategy for it at the PAC meeting. In the Datia by-poll, the BJP used its full strength, but the Congress won.
Now, the Congress prepares a plan to launch a movement against the government, and Rahul has instructed the MPCC leaders to aggressively raise the issues.
The party bosses instructed all leaders to participate in the PAC meeting. Former chief minister Digvijaya Singh will virtually take part in the meeting, and Kamal Nath may keep away from it.
Rest of the leaders will take part in the discussion.
The cases lodged against MPCC president Jitu Patwari's family will figure in the meeting.
Similarly, the cases for which the police registered FIRs against Congress leaders and their family members may come up for discussion.
The party may ask Rajya Sabha member Vivek Tankha to take such cases to the court. Thus, the Congress may launch an agitation against harassment of its leaders and workers.
At the meeting, the party plans to come up with roadmap for launching movements against the government.
According to Patwari, the meeting will devise the next strategy, and the Congress will target the government more in the coming days under the directives of Rahul Gandhi.
