BHOPAL : The probe report submitted by Principal Secretary, Forest Deepak Khandekar has established that the Datia Collector Prakash Jangre had indeed slapped Public Works Department Executive Engineer (EE) KK Singore.
Khandekar submitted his report on Monday to Chief Secretary Antony de Sa. The report said that the two officers exchanged hot words over erection of barricades on Ratanpur temple premises. The Collector lost his cool and not only slapped the EE but ordered Police to take him to the Police station, where he was detained for two hours. The report says that the role of Datia SP Irshad Wali in the incident was improper. Khandekar has included the audio of conversation between both the officers in his report.
Khandekar, in his report, cited Datia Collector admitting that he had a wordy duel with the EE. The Collector says in the audio that the incident had happened at the spur of the moment whereas the EE has termed it as a matter of self-respect. The EE, in his statement to Khandekar, has said that the incident is linked with his caste too. Khandekar also took statements of the eye-witnesses, who confirmed that the Collector had manhandled the EE. Khandekar said he has submitted his report after examining all the facts and the Department of Personnel would decide on further action.
