Bhopal: Congress state president Kamal Nath was on the receiving end on Monday after he posted a photograph on twitter of a road claiming severe corruption in the state. The said picture was traced to Bangladesh! Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was quick to response and tweeted with a comment on Kamal Nath’s tweet.
Shivraj said, “Hamare Congressi mitron ka kya kehna. Pahle Digvijayji Pakistan ke pul ko Bhopal le aye, ab Kamal Nathji Bangladesh ki sadak ko Madhya Pradesh le aye (laud my friends from Congress. First, Digvijay Singh brought a Pakistan bridge to Bhopal and now Kamal Nath brings in a road from Bangladesh to the state”.)
Tweet made by Shivraj was retweeted 4,300 times while it was liked by 8500 people. A twitter user Uma Kant Pandey posted a tweet of #FreeKhaledaZia, claiming to be the original source of the photo highlighting the condition of bad roads and corruption. The tweet is dated June 24 June, 2016. Later, that photo claiming to be from Bangladesh, was re-tweeted by several users.
Earlier in June, Digvijay Singh too, was caught on the wrong foot after he posted a photograph of a bridge with a crack and a comment saying that the quality of the new bridge suffered because of corruption in the state. Though Kamal Nath in his tweet did not mention the location of the road but Digvijay Singh in his tweet had pointed out that it was an under construction bridge at Subhash Nagar railway crossing in Bhopal. The crack in its pole raises question over the quality of bridge. Hope it’s not a Varanasi re-run. The bridge is being constructed under guidance of a BJP leader, then why such quality, Singh had asked.
Even then, Shivraj reacted immediately and replied, why Digvijay assumes that irregularities that were rampant in his regime still continue. ‘Leave along the bridge on the land, he could not build the bridge properly on his twitter handle,’ Shivraj had tweeted.
The bridge that Digvijay Singh had tweeted was actually a Metro rail bridge in Rawalpindi. Later, Singh had tendered an apology for his tweet.
