Cong leader booked for molesting minor

BHOPAL: Sidhi District Congress ( DCC) vice- president was sent to jail for molesting a minor girl on Monday. The incident took place at Semariya town of the district.Police said that accused Ehsan- ul- Haq, 55, runs a clinic and medical store in Semariya. He is DCC vice president.

A Jhagara village resident 17- year- old girl alleged that she went to the clinic of the accused for treatment on January 5. Victim told the police that when she was alone in the cabin of the accused he sexually harassed her in the name of medical check- up. When she protested, the accused threatened her with dire consequence, police said citing the complaint.

The victim related the incident to her parents who then rushed to Churhat police station and lodged a complaint.SHO Churhat R S Thakur, talking to Free Press, said, ” Haq was arrested late on Sunday night on the basis of the girl’s complaint and he was produced before the court on Monday. He has been booked under section 354 of the IPC.”
