College official slaps engg student, eardrum damaged’

BHOPAL: An engineering student’s eardrum was reportedly damaged after he was slapped by the college secretary. The incident took place at an engineering college in Bilkhiriya area on Tuesday morning in a dispute over submitting the exam form.The Bikhiriya TI, BS Bamne said, a fourth year student of electronics and communication branch at Vidyapeeth College of science and Technology, Rajiv Ranjan had gone to submit his examination form on Tuesday morning.

However, instead of joining the queue for submitting the form at the counter, Ranjan allegedly barged into the room and tried to submit his from. There was a dispute with the secretary at the college, Shraddha Suhane over the issue after which Shraddha slapped Ranjan.

Ranjan alleged that his ear drum was damaged following the hard slap. Ranjan reached the Bilkhiriya police station with the other students and made a complaint. The police took him for medical examination but the doctors had referred the police to some ear specialists at an ear hospital at Khajuri.

The police will conduct the medical examination of the student on Wednesday, the TI Bamne said. The College Management also reached the police station and alleged that Rajiv Ranjan had manhandled Shraddha Suhane after which she slapped him.
