Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, during the 15th Executive Committee meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad at his residence on Friday, urged the Parishad, Prasfutan Committees and Navankur Institutions to encourage farmers to adopt solar pumps for energy independence. He also emphasized promoting cow rearing as a means to increase farmers' income.

In his address, the CM highlighted the rising health issues in rural areas, particularly cancer, and stressed the importance of reducing the use of harmful chemical fertilisers and pesticides. He asked Parishad to promote natural and renewable farming practices to safeguard the health of farmers and the environment.

The CM released several key documents during the meeting, including the Personality Development and Character Building booklet, created in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya University.

He also unveiled the Divisional Review Report 2024-25 of the Jan Abhiyan Parishad and a booklet titled The World of Voluntary Organizations. CM Yadav also underscored the significance of making Jal Ganga Abhiyan a people's movement and urged the Parishad to play an active role in its success.

In a major health initiative, the government signed an MoU with the Snake Research Organisation, Ujjain, to address the issue of snakebites, which often result in fatalities. The partnership aims to train home guards, youth and interested people in snake handling and first aid. A trained person will be available at each police station across the state for snakebite prevention and emergency response.

Prioritise resources: CM

Chief minister Mohan Yadav said tribal-dominated districts of the state were rich in mineral resources. Development activities under District Mineral Foundation should be prioritised in these districts.

Infrastructure development should be determined based on the needs and conditions of each district. He presided over a meeting of District Mineral Foundation at Samatva Bhawan at Chief Minister’s residence. He said health care, drinking water, education, skill development and environment protection should be given top priority.
