Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The agitations by farmers and Generation Z show a major impact on the BJP government's functioning.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a meeting with tribal MPs and MLAs on Monday and discussed the problems and the development work in their areas.
Yadav discussed various issues with ministers Sampatiya Uike, Nagar Singh Chouhan, and Nirmala Bhuria. MPs Faggan Singh Kulaste, Gajendra Patel, Himadri Singh, and other tribal leaders also participated in the discussion.
The involvement of the Jay Adiwasi Yuva Shakti (JAYS) in the affairs of tribal people continues to grow.
The Congress and the JAYS organised several programmes across the state on the occasion of the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples on August 9.
Hundreds of tribal people participated in those events. Now, in consultation with the leaders of the party, the government has planned to work for the welfare of tribal people.
At the meeting, the government decided to organise functions across the state on November 15, the birthday of Birsa Munda.
The issues related to education and health in the tribal areas also figured in the discussion.
The government said it had kept the tribal people out of the uniform civil code, and the party should take this message to the tribal communities in a positive way.
Twenty-four tribal children recently died of malaria, measles, and malnutrition in the Balaghat district. The government is worried about the condition prevailing in the Birsa and Baihar developments.
Their resentment against tribal MPs and legislators remained apparent after the recent deaths. At the meeting, a legislator raised the issue of the arbitrary attitude of the officers in their areas.
Meetings to be held with leaders in divisions
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav plans to hold meetings with the BJP leaders in divisions. He has already interacted with leaders in divisions and plans to do it again.
In these meetings, discussions over coordination among the leaders in the divisions and the work of the government and organisation will take place.
