Cabinet meet: Bhopal government nods to three irrigation pojects benefitting 800 villages

BHOPAL: The state cabinet in its meeting, presided over by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday, gave approval to Rs 1626.27 crore for three irrigation projects. These projects will lead to irrigation in 79,990 hectares of land and benefit 883 villages.

The cabinet granted administrative sanction of Rs 856.4 crore for 50,000 hectare Rabi irrigation under ‘Nai Garhi micro irrigation project’. In all, it would benefit 633 villages including 30 villages under Gur tehsil of Rewa, 33 villages of Mangavan tehsil, 33 villages of Karchulian tehsil, 282 villages of Nai Garhi tehsil, 205 villages of Mauganj tehsil, 18 villages of Teonthar tehsil and 32 villages of Sirmaur tehsil.

The cabinet also gave administrative sanction of Rs 387.8 crore for 20,000 hectare irrigation under Ramnagar micro-irrigation project.

 It would benefit 25 villages of Maihar block of Satna and 156 villages of Ramnagar block. Administrative sanction of Rs 383.15 crore was given for 9990 hectare Rabi irrigation under ‘Tem medium irrigation project’. It would benefit 69 villages under Berasia block of Bhopal district and Maksudangarh tehsil of Guna district.

The state cabinet decided to relax the condition of five years of qualifying service for promotion from the post of additional director level in financial services under Finance department to controller, finance/ director. As per relaxation given, it has been decided to give two years relaxation and make three years as minimum qualifying service for promotion. As per recruitment rules, the qualifying service for additional director is five years.

 It was decided in the cabinet to use three posts of state administrative service cadre of super time scale as selection grade. The officers completing four years, in place of 6 years, in selection grade, will be given relaxation of two years for promotion to senior selection grade in 2016 and 2017. The qualifying service of 5 years for the promotion to the post of naib tehsildar will be relaxed to 3 years for one time.
