Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy died after his neck got entangled in the rope of a swing, which he was pulling to entertain his younger sister.

The incident took place at Arjun Nagar slums under MP Nagar police station on Friday night. Arjun was a student of Class 4 and was eldest among three siblings.

Their father had died in a road mishap two years back. Arjun used to take care of his siblings in the absence of his mother who works as domestic help in nearby colonies.

On Friday, Arjun was taking care of his younger brother Mayank (11) and sister Anshika (4). He tried to entertain Anshika by putting her in a swing when she started crying.

Police investigations revealed that Arjun’s neck somehow got entangled in the rope of the swing while Mayank was playing outside. The other children saw him trapped and raised an alarm.

Arjun was rescued by locals but he had died by then. MP Nagar police station TI Jai Hind Sharma said boy died after his neck got entangled in the rope of a swing.
