Civic body apathetic towards city’s prime business district
BHOPAL: MP Nagar is one of key business hubs of the state capital and pays the highest tax to the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). But that does not, of course, mean that the agency ensures proper sanitation in the area.
MP Nagar deserves special treatment from the BMC but the ground situation is that even the traders have to park their vehicles by the side of stinking garbage containers. It goes without saying that poor hygiene leads to health hazards. And long queues of patients in hospitals – be it government or private – are an evidence, if any is needed. Most of the patients are of viral fever.
Definitely, high tax paying hubs should be given more attention by the civic body. So BMC administration should take care of traders who run their business from MP Nagar. Proper sanitation, water supply and parking lots are some of the key issues. The BMC administration should prioritise them.”- Sagar Jain, 22, BE student
BMC administration simply does not care. It is a hopeless situation. When it comes to taxation, MP Nagar is a milch cow for the BMC. But talk of facilities and things are as bad as in other parts of the city. – Mahfuz Ali, 40, real estate businessman
If traders are given more facilities, they will pay more tax. So BMC should ensure proper facilities. Secondly, sanitation should be better”.- Vivek Kumar, 45, businessman
