BHOPAL : A clash took place between two groups of the Bijoria Community in Daikpur village within the limits of Berasia police station on Sunday morning over a land related dispute. More than a dozen men were injured in the blood-bath in which sticks and axes were used by them against each other. Around six injured were referred to Bhopal in critical condition while the others were undergoing treatment at the Berasia Civil Hospital. Police have registered case on charges of riot and assault against both the groups on their complaints.
According to police Sundar Singh Bijori, son of Dileep Singh, a resident of Daikpur village in his complaint stated that he had gone to plough his field, when accused Kamal Singh, Jagdish Singh, Samundar Singh, Harimohan, Ramnaresh, Ramswaroop, Naresh and Rampal, all residents of Daikpur attacked him claiming ownership of the land.
Police following his complaint have registered a case against all the accused under sections 147, 148 and 149 of the IPC.
In a counter complaint Harimohan, son of Kanchan Singh, resident of Daikpur levelled charges of assault against Samundar Singh, Raghuvar, Kamlesh, Rajendra, Rajesh, Akhilesh and Simrat, all residents of Daikpur village. Police following his complaint registered a case against all the accused under section 294, 323, 506 and 34 IPC.
All the persons involved in the clash were from Bijoria community and were claiming ownership on government land according to the police.
