Bhopal: Rise in temp, heat wave in few pockets likely in MP

Day temperatures over Madhya Pradesh and other nearby states have crossed 40 degree Celsius including Bhopal on Tuesday. Weather man expects further rise in temperatures leading to heat wave like conditions in isolated pockets of these states.  Night temperatures are also expected to rise gradually. Weather will be dry except in South Chhattisgarh which may witness isolated thundershowers.

Heat wave like condition prevailed in state capital as temperature again cross 40 degree Celsius. The scorching heat took a toll on the daily life of the and during the afternoon it seemed like the whole state capital has come to a standstill.  Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 40.8 degree Celsius which was 1.3 degree Celsius above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 23.6 which was just above normal. Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 40.4 degree Celsius which was just above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 21.9 degree Celsius which was just below normal.

As per the meteorological department, a fresh Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Central Pakistan. While over the plains, dry and hot winds from the Northwest would continue over various states including MP. Temperatures would increase further and heat wave like conditions is expected over parts of Madhya Pradesh.
