Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): As many as 96 quick response teams (QRT) have been deployed across the state to respond to any flood-related emergencies, said home minister Narottam Mishra on Monday.
“At the state level, 280 disaster response centres have been set up and 96 QRT are working in the state, while 19 teams are kept in reserve. In all 52 districts Emergency Operation Centres (EOC) have been established. Data is collected from the disaster warning system and the teams are working accordingly,” said Mishra.
The minister along with additional chief secretary home Rajesh Rajora, DG Home Guards Pawan Jain and other officials visited the state disaster command centre to review the arrangements made to control the flood situation in the state. Talking to media persons, the minister said that following heavy rain across the state, people living near the bank of river Narmada, Betwa have been alerted to shift to upper areas.
On Sunday night Vidisha recorded 8 inch rainfall in just 3.30 hours, said the minister, adding that the administration is running a relief and rescue operation in the district.
