Elections in the state are over and everyone is awaiting the outcome with bated breathe. Youths in the city are most enthusiastic about it because their future is connected with the election result. Speaking to Free Press, the youths talked about their aspirations and expectation from the new government. While their choice of party varied, but they unanimously were on same page regarding development, education and health in the state. Excerpts:

I think, the BJP will win form the government with full majority because the Congress didn’t reveal its chef ministerial candidate. It is not so in the BJP. At least we know its CM face. It may change the name later. Also, maturity should be in the CM candidate which is not seen in any leader of the Congress now. I want the new government to execute metro plan and build flyover in the city. I also want the number of bus should be increased and its connectivity should be improved in Govindpura constituency. There is also need to improve education system. Theatre should be included as subject.

We all know that the Congress and BJP are the prominent parties in the state. I think, Congress will form the government because ideologically, the party has targeted the public issue in the election. Also, traditional voters of the BJP have gone down this time. So the party’s voting percentage would decrease and this will go in favour of Congress. The BJP wave is on the wane. The situation of the party is same as it was of Congress 15 years back. My expectation from the new government is that they should work more on hospitals and schools rather the smart city. Road ko smart banae se kutchh nahi hoga. There is a need to make smart hospitals and schools. I also want government to provide more jobs to youths.

I think, the Congress will win because the prevailing atmosphere on my college campus indicated that the party would form the government. My expectation from the new government is to focus on education system, examination copies should checked fairly and lecture in the colleges should be regular. Also, they should work on infrastructure of educational institution.

Besides, the lower class, I think, the new government should also think for middle class people. They should make schemes and provide facility for the people of this class. Also, the idea sharing prorgamme, initiated by the BJP government during elections should be continued forever so that we should put our ideas before government. I think, the BJP will form the government because the party connects youth and promoted innovations.
