Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Upset at being assaulted and humiliated by some persons, a 23-year-old man consumed poison and ended his life. A case has been registered against the accused and efforts are underway to arrest them, police said.

Meanwhile, the youth’s father alleged foul play behind the incident and claimed that his son was forced to consume poison. According to reports, Itkhedi resident Kallu Khan’s son Salman was a fruit trader.

Sukhi Sewania police station incharge Rambabu Chaudhary said preliminary investigations revealed that Salman was standing at a spot where Raja Banjara and his two aides were consuming liquor. Salman accidentally spit in the liquor glass of Raja, which triggered an argument between them.

After a heated exchange of words, Raja and his aides assaulted and thrashed Salman. They chased him on the road when he tried to escape and even insulted him. Some locals intervened and rescued Salman. After attack and humiliation, Salman consumed poison.

He died during treatment at the hospital. Efforts are underway to arrest Raja and his two aides.
