Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Voting for the second phase of three-tier panchayat elections begins in the state.

Voting is being held in 3 districts of Jabalpur district in the second phase. Votes are being cast in 257 gram panchayats of Patan Shahpura and Majholi districts.
Notably, voting will be conducted at 23,967 polling centres in 7,655 village panchayats across the state from 7 am to 3 pm. Among these, 3,580 polling centres are sensitive, according to the Commission.
The commissioner said more than 49,000 police force personnel had been deployed for the second phase of polling. Polling teams have left for all the polling centres.
According to the State Election Commission, the village panchayats going to polls on Friday fall under 106 janpad panchayats in 47 districts.
After the unopposed election at some posts, the number of posts for actual election is 291 for district panchayat members, 2,227 for janpad panchayat members, and 7,373 for sarpanch posts and 22,451 for panch posts.
