Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Folk singer Preeti Borliya and troupe presented Varsha Geet ‘Mewaji aap barso ne dharti nibje… on Sunday.
The concert was organised by Kalidas Sanskrit Akademi, Ujjain. It was part of the ongoing online series ‘Gamak,’ organised by Madhya Pradesh Culture Department in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The troupe from Ujjain presented Malvi songs, delighted the audience. They began with Ganesh Vandna ‘Sewa mahri mani lo…’. It was followed by ‘Nayak-Naika Geet,’ ‘Shringar Geet’. They also presented a Kabir song in Malawi ‘Garv karo so gawara…’.
Besides, the event began with the performance of Pt. Kuldeep Dubey and troupe from Ujjain presented Shriram Bhajan. They began with Ganesh Vandna 'Gaiye Ganpati Jagvandan,’ followed by Ramjanam Badhai Geet ‘Janme hai Ram-Ramaiya Avadh mein baje badhaiya…,’ Bal Leela Geet ‘Thumak Chalat Ramchandra…’ and Van-Gaman Geet ‘Van ko chale dono bhai Sitamai…’. They ended with Ram Stuti ‘Shri Ramchandra kripalu bhajman…’.
