BHOPAL: Holders of Jandhan accounts are not being allowed to withdraw more than Rs 10,000 from their accounts. This issue was raised by the SDM of Khandwa at the ‘Parakh’ video-conferencing by the chief secretary B.P. Singh here on Thursday.
The representatives of banks said that no such cap has been imposed. The CS then directed the banks not to impose arbitrary conditions. In the video-conference, it also came to light that the work of linking bank accounts with Aadhar number was not progressing at the required pace. It was also complained that transportation permits were not being issued in proportion to the new roads being built in the rural areas.
Issues related to Mukhyamantri Grameen Privahan Yojana, Motor Vehicles Driver-Conductor Scheme, Backward classes Post-Matric Scholarship scheme, various pension schemes, CM Help Line, Public Services Delivery Guarantee Scheme also came up. The action plan for providing construction material at concessional rates for construction of houses under PM’s Rural Housing Scheme was also discussed. The CS sought information from the collectors regarding tree plantation on both banks of the Narmada River and installation of rooftop solar plants in collector offices.
