BHOPAL: Traders have demanded that the market should be allowed to remain opened till 10 pm in uniform pattern for the convenience of people. The uniform pattern will prevent rush at shops and in markets.
The government employees cannot buy items if shops are closed by evening as they get free time after duty hours.
The state government is planning to unlock in a graded manner. In Bhopal, as per plan, three zones will be made - Green, Orange and Red.
Ten Number market president Raj Kumar Batra said, "Uniform pattern should be adopted for opening the markets and shops should be allowed to open up to 10 pm. The selective strategy will lead to heavy rush from other areas to particular areas where shops are opened. If 10 Number market is closed and 11 Number is opened, the public will rush to 11 Number leading to heavy rush there. So it is better to open all the markets and shops in uniform manner and timing should be up to 10 pm. Vaccination should be made compulsory for traders."
New Market Traders Association president Satish Gangrade said, "Market should be allowed remain open till 10 pm so that people could conveniently visit there and purchase items. It would be the responsibility of market associations and traders to ensure social distancing and mask on face. If one market is closed and another is opened, public will rush to that area and there will be heavy rush."
Thok Bazar Vyapar Mandal president Kundan Das said, "Grocery shops should be allowed to opened from 6 am to 10 pm. Otherwise, people rush to shops for items and it leads rush at shops. When shops will be permitted to open till 10 pm, it will be comfortable for both traders as well as the customers."
