Bhopal: State players shine in national rowing championship

BHOPAL: The players of Madhya Pradesh rowing team excelled in the 35th national rowing championship, being organised at the Upper Lake. The Madhya Pradesh team by winning in 2000 metre category race clinched seven medals and stood first. Telangana came second with three medals while Karnataka got third position by winning two medals.

In 2000 metres woman pair event, Sona Keer and Rukhmani won gold medal. In boys category, coxless four event, Ankit, Rohit, Aman Rathore and Manas Sharma won gold medal. In boys, light weight coxless four event, Vishwajeet Sendhav, Umar Farooq, Lucky and Bhanupratap Singh won silver medal. In under-21, boys, double scull category, Surendra Parmar and SC Vishakath Chandra won silver medal.

In boys, pair event, Kuldeep Sendhav and Prince Nasir won bronze medal. In boys, light weight double scull, Mangal Singh and Balram Soni bagged bronze medal. In woman, coxless four event, Amandeep Kaur, Ramanjeet Kaur, KM Geeta and Karuna Devi won bronze medal.
