Bhopal: Shehnai Samaroh concludes with evening dedicated to Bismillah Khan

BHOPAL: Based on musical instrument, a three-day Shehnai Samaroh concluded  with  mesmerising recital of shehnai players of New Delhi, Kolkata, Varanasi and Chennai at Bharat Bhavan on Sunday. To mark the centenary of legendary music maestro Bismillah Khan, the rare concert was organised for the first time at the Bhavan.

On Sunday, the concert was divided in two sessions. The morning session began with the recital of Kumar Bhaskar Nath from New Delhi.

He presented morning raag gujar todi and some tunes.

The evening ended with the performance of Pt. Ashok Chaurasia, New Delhi and he also presented morning raga sur sarang and enchanted the music lovers. The evening session began with the recital of Ustad Ahmed Abbas Khan, Kolkata who presented raag puriya dhanashree.

After Khan’s performance, Ustad Fateh Ali from Varanasi, presented raag mishra gauri which was dedicated to legendary music maestro Bismillah Khan.  The concert concluded with magical duet Pt. S and Krishna Ballesh which left the audience spellbound.
