Bhopal: The agitating students of MP School of Drama (MPSD) are determined to continue with their protest till their issued are resolved. The agitation by the students of batch 2018-19 continued for the second-day on Friday. The aggrieved students on Friday met Chief minister Kamal Nath at CM house, however they could not apprise him of their issues as Nath was busy with Congress president visit.

They remained at CM’s residence on Friday Morning from 9 am to 10.30am. Thereafter, they waited for the officials on their school premises from 11.15am to 6 pm, but neither any representative of the culture department visited them, nor were they invited for talks by the officials.

The students told Free press “We met chief minister at his residence on Friday morning but he was very busy in Rahul Gandhi’s event so he couldn’t talk to us. But he directed one of his officials to look into our problems. He heard our problems and assured that the culture department would look into their problems and try to solve it as soon as possible.”

They further said, “On Thursday, secretary, culture, Renu Tiwari ma’am told us that they would meet us on Friday. We are waiting for her till the office hour of the school, she didn’t come. We will not join our class till our problems which we mentioned in letter will not be solved,” the students said adding that “we will meet CM again. If our voice will not be heard, we will go up to the Prime Minister.”

They further said, “Why should we suffer due to lack of fund? It is not our fault. Whenever we demand something whether it is drinking water, props or costumes for play, it is said that it can’t be arranged due to lack of fund. We have become fed up and mentally disturbed listening this. We want solutions of these problems in writing.” None of the students entered the building of the school. They spent the day on the campus reading books and chatting. They said that their protest will continue till their problems were resolved.

CM meets aggrieved students

The chief minister Kamal Nath met the students briefly and directed the CMO officials to look into their problems. The students were assured that the culture department would look into their problems and try to solve it as soon as possible. We have got their complaint enquired into by member members committee of officials on Thursday.

The committee reported that there was no substance in the complaint. The students are being mislead by on or two mischievous elements among them. This indiscipline will not to be tolerated. The students should immediately join their class. Renu Tiwari, secretary, culture

I got the call from secretary, culture Renu Tiwari on Friday noon. She directed to continue the class. I conveyed this message to students through registrar. Alok Chatterji, director, MP School Drama. Yes, we got a call from one of the committee members, but they want to meet one of the students alone. We want them to meet all students and hear our problems. But they don’t have much time to meet all. We didn’t misbehave with Renu Tiwari ma’am. We just requested her to meet us. Students, MPSD
