Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A tragic road accident in Bhopal claimed the life of a nursing student, while two others sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred on Sunday night when the three students were returning from church prayers. Their speeding scooter lost control and crashed into a divider.
An ambulance rushed them to the hospital, but one of the students, succumbed to her injuries during treatment early Monday morning. The other two are undergoing treatment. Gandhi Nagar police have registered a case and started an investigation.

According to information, the deceased, identified as 23-year-old Shani Mathew, was a native of Kerala. The other two injured have been id'd as Sendal Sona and Soril, also from Kerala. Police sources reveal that Shani was a final-year BSc Nursing student at Chirayu Medical College and was doing her internship there. She and her friends, who lived in the same hostel, had visited a church on Jail Road. While returning, their scooter suddenly went out of control and hit the divider.
The exact cause of the accident remains unclear. Police will examine CCTV footage from the area to determine what led to the crash. All three students were originally from Kerala and were studying together at Chirayu Medical College. After the post-mortem, Shani’s body was handed over to her family on Monday in the presence of acquaintances.
