Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The police headquarters has turned into an e-office on the pattern of Mantralaya. Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana has started the process at the police headquarters (PHQ).

Makwana initially told the officials to complete the process by March 31. But many branches were unable to meet the deadline. He then directed the officials to finish the project by April 15. After Makwana’s strong instructions, the PHQ has turned into an e-office.

His next step will be to connect different branches with the main offices of the police department through the e-office system. He has directed the department to carry out the e-office system by December this year.

Preparations are underway to issue a directive in this regard. Plans are also afoot to connect the PHQ with Mantralaya through e-office. Chief Secretary Anurag Jain has already converted Mantralay into an e-office since January 1.

Makwana wants the PHQ to be connected with all districts through e-office. The purpose is to stop sending files manually. There are complaints that the files and records disappear from the police department.

Once Makwana’s efforts to convert the police department into e-office succeed, this problem will be over. The officials will monitor each file sent through e-office. Neither any officer nor any employee can hold a file for a long time. The government is carrying out e-office in every department.
