BHOPAL: The striking patwaris have postponed their strike till May 15 after assurance from revenue minister Rampal Singh on Tuesday.

The patwaris were on strike from April 15 to press their various demands. State president of patwari association Prakash Maali said they met the revenue minister and presented their demands. The minister had accepted the other demands like departmental exam for naib tehsildars, which was conducted last in the year 1996. The patwaris had demanded the salary of Rs 2,800 grade pay, but the minister declared the grade pay of Rs 2,400.

He added they had postponed their strike till May 15. If the government followed the decisions taken in the meeting held on Tuesday, they would continue their work, but if the government failed to keep its promise, they would go on strike from May 16.
