Bhopal: One Detained For Contractor’s Murder

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Police detained one of the accused involved in the murder of a contractor at Umrao Colony under Nishatpura police station on Saturday night. The body of the contractor was handed over to his kin after post-mortem examination on Sunday. Efforts were on to trace all the accused involved in the murder, police said.

As per reports, the deceased identified as Irfan Ansari (32) was a contractor. Irfan was constructing a house at Umrao Colony where poles were installed for supporting shuttering plates. On Sunday morning, one of the wooden poles fell on the electricity cable of the adjacent house.

Irfan’s neighbour Bhaiyya Kale and his son Arshu, who have past criminal record created a ruckus and issued threats to Irfan. The issue was sorted out after intervention of some locals. However, in the evening, Bhaiya Kale, Arshu and their aides barged inside the house of Irfan and assaulted him with knives and iron rods.

They also attacked his brother Raees and Pintu when they tried to rescue him. The assailants fled after the incident. The injured persons were taken to Hamidia Hospital where Irfan died while undergoing treatment.

Late in the night, police registered a case against Bhaiyya Kale, Arshu and their unidentified aides. Police officials said that Bhaiyya Kale has been taken into custody and is being questioned while efforts were on to trace the other accused.
