Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): The new academic session (2022-23) of the Madhya Pradesh School of Drama (MPSD) will begin from July 15. School’s director Teekam Joshi said twenty-six students have been selected through a two-stage all-Indian entrance test for the year-long theoretical and practical diploma course in theatre.

Of the students selected, the maximum 17 are from Madhya Pradesh. Three are from Uttar Pradesh and one each from Uttarakhand, Assam, Haryana, Maharashtra, Bihar and Delhi. Eight of them are females and the rest are males.

The students would be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 6,000 for managing their lodging-boarding expenses. They will be required to deposit Rs 1000 as admission fee and Rs 5000 as caution money, which will be refunded to them at the end of the session. If the students quit the course midway, they would have to refund the amount of the stipend paid to them. They will be required to sign a notarised affidavit to this effect on an Rs-500 non-judicial stamp paper.

He said that the students would also be required to furnish a character certificate, Covid-19 negative report and vaccination certificate. The newly admitted students will also be required to bring their class 10 and graduation marksheets, domicile certificate and caste certificate in the original for admission, Joshi added.

The final selection of the candidates was made at a workshop organised from June 7 to 10 by a selection committee appointed by the MPSD.
