BHOPAL: Taking cognizance of the alleged lack of basic amenities at Bairagarh civil hospital, the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission has served notice on the district collector, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) and the civil hospital RMO.

The Commission has directed them to submit a reply within a week's time, said an MPHRC official.

It has been reported that out of three water coolers at the hospital, only one is in working condition, while the two others are partially working.

Patients and their attendants coming to the medical facility have to wander for drinking water. Even the nursing and paramedical staff have to run pillar to post for water.

Relatives of patients admitted in the male general ward and in the maternity ward have a tough time. Barring morning hours, the sole working water-cooler runs dry the rest of the day.
