Bhopal: MP government spends 9% of its budget on school education in contrast to Aam Admi Party in Delhi that has increased budget for schools to 25%. The claims of government that there is shortage of funds, is not true, said Atishi Marlena, member of Political Affair Committee of the AAP, on her visit to Bhopal on Sunday.
Atishi said that 84% of children studying in class 1-9 do not know numbers while 51% children could not read Hindi. Quoting CAG report she said that around 42 lakh children in the state left schools in past five years and 65,000 posts of teachers are vacant in MP.
Atishi said that everyone knows the sorry state of government schools but AAP government has changed that perception and developed government schools just like private. Salaries of guest teachers have been doubled and they are paid now Rs 30000-35000.
“We would have appointed permanent teachers but that file is hanging balance with the Lieutenant General of Delhi,” said Atishi. Attacking the state BJP government, Atishi said that if Shivraj after ruling for 15 years say that health and education services need to be made better then it means that he does not intend to make them better.
