Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The monsoon session of state Assembly will be held next month. This information was given by Assembly speaker Girish Gautam.
Talking to a section of media on Saturday, Gautam said decision could not be taken on proposal sent by Legislative Affairs Department till date, therefore it is unlikely that the session will be convened in July.
Gautam said monsoon session is expected to be of five to seven days. It needs to be recalled that the budget session this year was adjourned sine die early considering gravity of corona pandemic. The monsoon and winter sessions last year could not be convened because of pandemic.
In 2021, budget session was convened from February 22 to March 26 but ended abruptly due to raging pandemic. As per rules, House session has to be convened before September.
Earlier, Speaker had indicated that monsoon session could be held in July last week, adding that corona protocol would be followed. Experts said that finance department may first table supplementary estimate during upcoming session.
