Bhopal: Admitting that loan waiver was not a permanent solution to address farmers’ woes, chief minister stated that the decision was necessary. He reiterating his government’s commitment to keep farmers’ interest foremost and work for the development of farm sector.
Farmers do not have big desires and only want adequate price of their produce which the Congress government would ensure, said Nath speaking on the Governor’s address here on Wednesday. Quoting the Governor Anandiben Patel, who addressed the first session of the 15th Assembly of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the Governor in her speech had highlighted ‘Hum Sabki Sarkar Kiase Pradesh ka Bhavishya Sudharegi’ (how our government would shape up the future of state).
“I agree that we are facing many financial challenges but to transform the challenges into opportunity is what Madhya Pradesh stands for. In last 15 years, if we dint learn any lesson and the future will never forgive us for that,” said the CM.
Nath reciting Governor’s quote “It’s time for change”, said that people of Madhya Pradesh have chosen the new government for a change and in last 24 days footstep of good governance could be heard.
“We want to form our government and not my government, now every citizen can say that ‘I am the government’. Whenever government turns ‘person centric’ it becomes detrimental democracy. The joint effort of people, ruling party as well as opposition is essential for successful running of democracy.”
We believe that government a strong opposition is equally important for a successful government, said Nath clarifying that his government has no issues with the opposition BJP. “We all shall together fight against the financial crisis, malnutrition, crime, diminishing employment and decreasing industrial investment, we all going to fight together and will going to win,” said CM. Emphasising on the women empowerment, Nath said that it is responsibility of the government to ensure that they work with dignity at their workplace and get all respect that they command.
He also assured that the government will work for employment generation. He also reiterated the promises he made in Vachan Patra, regarding setting up of ‘Gou Shala’, Ram-Van-Path-Gaman and their commitment to save river Narmada. He assured that the government will take all necessary steps for the welfare of SC/ST as well as people of general category.
