Bhopal: Life sentence to man for killing sister-in-law

District and Sessions Court, Bhopal on Thursday convicted a 20-year-old man of killing his sister-law over delay in serving food to him.

Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): District and Sessions Court, Bhopal on Thursday convicted a 20-year-old man of killing his sister-law over delay in serving food to him.

Additional Sessions Judge Balram Yadav sentenced the man Raghuveer Singh Rajput, a resident of Godar Mau, Gandhi Nagar Bhopal to life imprisonment.

Additional district prosecution officer Manoj Tripathi said that the court has awarded rigorous imprisonment for life under section 302 IPC and a fine of Rs 1000 for killing his sister-in-law (Brother’s wife) Ganga Bai.

On March 15, 2020, Raghuveer Singh Rajput attacked his sister in-law Gangabai with a shovel for serving him food on time. The woman died on the spot.  

Shaitan Singh, Gangabai husband, had told police that he lived with his parents, children and two brothers. “Raghuvir used to demand money but whenever I refused, he would think that my wife was preventing me from giving the money. He used to comment on my wife over daily chores,” Shaitan Singh had told police.
