Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Several parents from various schools across the state capital have alleged that private schools are charging the full fees in violation of the government’s instructions and orders issued by the high court.

“The school has stopped providing links for online classes to my child as I haven’t deposited the inflated fees and approached the high court,” said Manish, a parent.

They are demanding all types of fees—including computer fee, sports fee and even fees under other heads—much against the court’s orders, he added.

Other parents like Vandana and Pushpendra Gupta too are facing same problems. Pushpendra said that they had lodged a written complaint against the school with the district education officer but there has been no response so far.

‘We only get assurance from the district education officer but no action is being taken against the school,’ he added.

It needs to be recalled that the school education department had also issued instructions after orders from High Court that private schools cannot charge anything besides tuition fee as the schools are closed.

This ruling was meant for the entire period of pandemic. The court had also restrained the schools to hike the school fee but on the contrary, private schools in large numbers are charging fees besides the tuition fee and are coercing parents for it.
