SEHORE: ‘Farmer’s Day’ was celebrated at the centre of International Centre for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA) at Amlaha on Monday. Chief guest was state agriculture production commissioner (APC) PC Meena. Speaking on the occasion, he said ICARDA was doing good work for the farmers. The MP government would provide all possible cooperation to the institute.
Over 300 farmers participated in the meet. Agriculture scientists introduced them to Food and Legume Research Platform and the new techniques. They were also told about new varieties of various crops developed by the ICARDA. The director of the Institute Dr Ashutosh Sarkar said that the new varieties are sturdier and more nutritious.
